Oh, and I forgot....

At 8:47am on Jan 7, 2001 Neil coughed 14 times (some argue 13 and claim the last was a half-cough, throat clearing) into the microphone. I have that on vinyl. It's also imprinted on a hologram that is mounted on a display case in my Neil Young Shrine /garage.

But I'm a pretty casual fan. My friend owns the tissue he used to wipe his mouth. (lucky bastard).

Heh, yeah, I've heard that story about the Neil/Stills tour before... Those two had a fairly rocky relationship. Back in the day CSNY was singing all those songs about peace and love, then they'd go backstage after the show and try to kill each other.

I wouldn't blame it all on Neil because this went down in 1998/99 when Trey was doing massive drugs and Phish was on a downward spiral that would lead to the band going on hiatus in 2000 and then officially breaking up in 2004. Plenty of room for people flaking out on both sides of the equation.

I once saw Steven Wright sit in with Phish on triangle... I doubt that even Bill Bixby's cousin could top that epic performance!

You wouldn't think so, but that night he was otherworldly. Those solos remain with me to this day.
