Re: Evolution of humanity

I saw that documentary. I'm glad to hear SeaWorld finally came around. I wish the Seaquarium would do right and at least build the orca there a bigger tank

Expedition Happiness

On the subject of documentaries....

Expedition Happiness: Catch this on Netflix if you want all your biases about Millennials confirmed. Honestly, they didn't annoy me as much as some of the imdb reviewers. I admired their gumption on some level.

Still, this isn't a story to share with the rest of humanity, cool renovated bus aside.

3/10

Re: Evolution of humanity

It was upsetting to watch. I admit, I never gave it that much thought before.. captive dolphins / killer whales, but it's really cruel how they kidnapped the babies right in front of the mom whales. There was one part of the documentary that showed how the whales caught on to what was going on, they split up, and tried to fake the boats out and save the babies. The adults w/out babies went one way, the ones with babies went the other. But they still caught them because the people had planes to watch overhead. When they took the babies, the other whales were crying and swimming around the boats.. very sad.

That one whale, Tilikum who made the news a few times for killing human trainers, the way he was treated, from the moment of capture and his life after, I think made him into a kind of whale serial killer. They aren't known to attack in the wild. he went through a kind of living nightmare, it's no wonder

The aquarium we go to stopped doing the shows a while ago. they still have dolphins from when they used to, but they just swim around in there while someone talks about conservation and learning about dolphins.
