Re: Bitcoins

Btw, Litecoin is up 10% today. That's a year's worth, if you're the mutual fund type.

Re: Bitcoins

Yeap.

I read something interesting re: the entry of CME into the market. Folks seem to think the prices will esplode when they get in but someone mentioned "hey dumbasses, their money is flowing in NOW" which they suggested is the cause of the ahead-of-all-predictions rally (and NOT post-Thanksgiving-discussion furor). The idea being the CME guys buy them now, allow price to go up in anticipation of CME entering market w/ associated FOMO, THEN dump the BTC they've spent the prior month gathering and short right out of the gate.

Then again it might double. Who knows. The miners, at least, have a vested interest in the price not going down so hopefully they'll help prevent the shortening. They have a lot of money.

I tried trading during the wild fluctuations tonight. I lost $50.

I'm tempted to take my few thousands of winnings and sit on the sidelines for a bit.

Re: Bitcoins

I'm wimping out of all my crypto holdings and profit taking...

Maybe I'll come in again if there's a dip. I believe in the technology but it feels too bubbly for me right now.

Re: Bitcoins

Actually I got back in purely in Litecoin. Bitcoin's resiliency restored my confidence. AMA

Re: Bitcoins

Merely a day later and you're back in.

It's very resilient. The problem I see for it now is it's going "retail", and subject to bubbles and emotions. Plus, the big players entering the market makes things a bit scary 'cause they can manipulate the shit out of the market and stand to profit from drops in price.

I wish I had some idea of what's to come. I have quite a bit of cash in bitcoin. If I cashed out now, I'd walk away with about $4k profit which isn't shabby for less than a month. It could crash to nothing tomorrow, of course. On the other hand, it could go much higher so my greed is making me hold. There was a dip of about $2.5k today, I sold high and bought low which got me an extra $1k or so. I'll probably never trade again and just hooooooold.

The extent of these bounces has me a bit nervous, esp because I got my ass kicked buying amzn calls as it dipped today. Need any toilet paper?

Re: Bitcoins

I was up 6K and have given back about 1.5K. I have 200 litecoin that are long holds since it tracks pretty closely with BTC but has more upside.
