Babylon 5

Is anyone else as fan of that show?

I didn't watch it when it premiered in the 90's but I've since discovered it.

As someone who has been a closet trekkie since I was young, I must say I am very impressed with Babylon 5. In many ways, despite it's relatively brief run I think it is a superior show in terms of story depth and character development.

Re: Babylon 5

So no one here has watched it. I suggest you do.

Give it a chance. Starts slowly but really gathers steam. A bit campy and the visual effects are dated but still.

I'm nearly done now and I have to say it's in my top 10 of TV series. The plot, the character development is not something often seen. I'll miss it when it is over.

Re: Babylon 5

Favorite Sci-Fi binging shows (in no particular order):
  • Firefly (not a long binge)
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  • Dollhouse
  • Terminator - the Sarah Connor Chronicles
  • Star Treks (all of them)
  • Continuum
  • 12 Monkeys
  • Person of Interest

All those are campy and fun - but that feeling of missing the show and feeling an absence at the rolling of the last credits - I really adored the writing and plot and character development of:
  • Mr. Robot
  • Battlestar Galactica

Been meaning to watch Mr. Robot, need to get on that...

We tried to get started on the new Battlestar Gallactica a while back but it was like a movie or something that went on for a long time so we eventually got tired and took a break, then never got back to it. Should give it another shot because I was a huge fan of the original BG.

Haven't watched any of those others aside from a few odd episodes of Star Trek here and there.

The 1st season of Westworld was great but we haven't started the 2nd yet.

Big fan of Legion on FX, that show will fuck your head up.

Re: Babylon 5

The character is a bit more reserved than Mark Anthony, but I think Purefoy does a decent enough job.

Check out Hap and Leonard. It even has a black gay guy in it and I watch it.
