Re: Bitcoins

Expected. I watched it live as it rallied from $5500 to $6300 in like an hour and a half, then it corrected its correction. Right now, miners are returning to BTC and transactions are being confirmed so we're seeing some delayed action from last night which will move it down. Further, the previous high was obviously inflated. People are saying mid 5000s to mid 6000s is a healthy place to be in the long term. Speculators, man, makin' shit be crazy.

Re: Bitcoins

Litecoin is fine.

I was watching the real time stuff on GDAX and, frankly, I felt like people that watch sports must feel. That roller coaster was exciting as hell, even though I lost a bit of money on paper. If coinbase didn't take almost two goddamned weeks to free up my BTC, I could have made it all back and then some but that's how it is sometimes.

Doesn't seem it has a reason to exist once they fix bitcoin's scaling issues...

Re: Bitcoins

It still has issues, namely it's extremely hard to do truly anonymous transactions, there's a centralization problem re: hashpower, and the mining of said coin is (quite frankly) an ecological disaster. I don't know whether Litecoin solves those issues but it's the silver to bitcoin's gold and it seems to serve a purpose.

Re: Bitcoins

PS - we're kissing upon $8k today. Looking at the sell wall at $8k, once we pass that I don't see any further obstructions (relatively minor) at the further $100 marks. This could be an interesting evening.

Re: Bitcoins

Never made it. Still waiting on half a bitcoin to clear, I used my other half to snag $20 while it went back and forth. $20 is $20.

It's high but I'm not sure it's going to "correct" very drastically, particularly if CME and Square stuff comes about before the end of the year. Will see.
Mulling the idea of putting even more of my treasured savings into this imaginary nothing.
