Heya Sath.

Throw me a pm with your thesis topic, I'd be interested. Sorry to hear the Danish Government has thrown you to the wolves of industry. I can only hope it will work out well for you.

Be sure to let us all know when you'll be available to lead an MMPORG contingent again. You always were grace under pressure with your friends, and a solid annoyance to your enemies.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out why any player would voluntarily spend time on a project run by Adam Ant.

IPY looks fun - is anyone playing it ?

The really amusing thing about Angel Island is that with a smidge of common sense and decency, that project could have really solidified a good long term playerbase instead of splintering it. For instance, they keep posting over on game-master.net how little trouble it is to run two instances of RUNUO on a single server (for the Island Siege Project), but then NEVER thought to actually keep the original Angel Island 1.0 up and running while introducing an AI 2.0 with some differences. Instead, the ever unstable Adam kicked the server to the street and dumped on his patrons.

If nothing else, Adam has been a case study in how not to manage an online service.
I'd show you what really gets you perma banned but adam nuked all my AI posts and deleted my account.

@ Crassus - not that i disagree with you, nor would i have banned you had i still been moderating over there, but, you have to admit you were looking for a fight with that post.

I don't think IPY is up and running yet? It sounds like they're getting close and from reading their blogs and knowing their history, when they do, it's gonna be a big deal (as far as PRSs go)

Sure, if trying to talk sense to power is looking for a fight. I wasn't being specifically bellicose, and I would have been happy to address my issues in an open forum.

They banned me, of course. You can't talk that way to Adam! How ungrateful to want an administrator to actually keep their word.

Re: The Crazies at Angel Island

No argument from me about Adam. I could never understand why he banned people who truly cared about the shard and promoted people who had a stated goal of wrecking the place.

I just see that third question as calling him a liar. Everyone knows he didn't keep his word, so why make the point if it's not to rub his face in it or something?

Anyway, we're both on the same page more or less - i was just bored at work!

Hmm, I can see how it would have been taken as a direct personal attack, I certainly am offended by his actions in that regard, but I also thought maybe he could respond positively and say he did believe people should keep their word - within limits. Then he could talk about the circumstances that caused him to break his word, and I intended to interject there were still some methods that he could redeem the situation (that being to put the AI 1.0 backup back online).

In any event, all of that potential reconciliation discussion has been shelved with the push of a ban button. Always better to ban your players than to put up with them saying things you might not like.

Thanks. I'll let you know when I've made a final decision on the topic. Should be within the next couple of weeks.

Oh, and Adam Ant sucks (since I have had zero interactions or direct experiences with him, the opinion is based on nothing, except loyalty to former guildmates :P)
